Mooldhan is the Hindi word for “capital”. Within the context of rural development, Micro credit systems have grown in popularity as a tool for empowerment of the people.

It can be defined as the provision of parsimony, credit and other financial services and products of very small amount to people of low income in rural, semi-urban and urban areas for enabling them to raise their income levels and improve living standards.

A Micro credit and saving system started by the TGG Foundation with the participation of its members on the 1st October 2016 with an aim to create saving habits. Mooldhan will have a significant impact once the self help group starts using it for income generating activities from 1st July 2017. It will allow them to have interest free loans for undertaking various activities that can create sustainable income generation.
