Jai means "to praise" and Kisan means "farmers". We have a wide range of products produced by our member farmers and the rural women empowerment centers, you can support and encourage their initiatives by purchasing products directly from them. TGGFCT is aiming to reduce the gap between the farmers and the consumers through this movement.
TGG'S SUSTAINABLE RURAL DEVELOPMENT MODEL (TSRDM) :
CREATING AWARENESS ON RESPONSIBLE FARMING:
Ethical agricultural practices are the essence of responsible farming. Food is considered as God and it should be produced with maximum purity since it is for consumption. In Ayurveda food is regarded as medicine since the food you eat gets converted to what you are. Therefore eating good quality food without any adulteration or chemical application will decide how healthy you will remain.
Shared machinery and tools: It creates an opportunity for the farmers to cultivate and maintain their crops at reduced cost by optimising the human hours spent. This will not only make the agriculture activities efficient but will also address the present crisis of non availability of workers and increasing wages.
Shared livestock: Allows livestock trading, breeding at fair prices by the establishment of shared markets.
Developing a seed bank: By engaging many farmers, we are able to develop seed banks in which farmers can share quality seeds for fair prices. It also aims to protect and increase the availability of parent seeds which are now getting extinct.
Collective farming of a land area: By engaging land owners, we can transform vacant lots into ecologically sound agricultural producing areas through collective farming.
Collective bulk purchasing: Through collective purchasing, farmers are able to reduce their costs by buying items such as feed, bio-fertilizer, etc in bulk or from each other at fair prices.
Weekly vegetable shop: Barter system has been introduced for exchanging vegetable among the farmers who are part of Jai Kisan Movement. A shop is established at the office complex to display the vegetables produced by each JKM members on the first day of every week.
E-AUCTION FOR FARMERS:
It is often observed that farmers has no role in deciding the price for their produces and they are always at the mercy of the traders to sell their product who often takes huge profit margin for a very short activity without realizing that the farmers have put their yearlong effort and investment in cultivating it. We are starting an E-Auction platform to support farmers to directly sell the products at farmers price to the traders/end users.
