A man of strong conviction with positive attitude. After his education at Bihar National College and P.G. Department of Labour and Social Welfare, Patna University, Shri. Dayal joined TataSteel on 17th February, 1978, rising steadily up the ranks – from Assistant Personnel Officer at Jamshedpur Steel Works to Director Personnel in the Board of Western Coalfields Limited, Nagpur (A Government of India Undertaking). He also worked for companies like Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited at its Assam Unit and Mazagon Dock Limited (Shipbuilders to the Nation), Mumbai. He also held additional charge of Director Finance in the Western Coalfields Limited from Sept. 07, 2013 to June 30, 2015. With more than 40 years of rich experiences in the field of Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility and Administration, he has an unique blend of expertise of working in TataSteel as well as in Central Public Sector Undertakings. His approach for bringing attitudinal changes directed towards new work culture and improved performance for executives of various companies was key to his success. Shri. Dayal had honour at the hands of Hon’ble Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam, Former President of Indian Republic on 29th July 2014 at Nagpur in recognition of his outstanding achievements. He was awarded “Global HR Excellence Award” conferred at “World HRD Congress” and “HR Leadership Award” during “Asia Pacific HRM Congress in 2012 and 2013 consecutively. He was chosen among the “30 Most Talented HR Leaders” of PSEs conferred at “World HRD Congress” He is also appointed as a member in the Ethics Committee of TGG Foundation for the financial year 2020-21.
Dr Dinesh Bist is currently setting up Chiswick College, a Private Higher Education Institute in Chiswick, Hounslow London. The College is set to be launched in the month of March 2020.
Previously, he was the Vice Principal at St Patrick’s College London. He is a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the Hospitality industry and over 16 years’ experience in Education.
He has studied at inter alia the Hotel School at Cornell University, USA, the Hotel School in Lausanne, Switzerland, the University of Delhi – India, Sunderland University and Oxford Centre of Hindu Study at Oxford University.
He completed his professional doctorate in Education (Learning, Teaching and Assessments) at the University of Sunderland in the UK. He has industry experience in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
He is currently reading and developing his understanding of meditation and neuroscience to know how it all may help inform or improve learning and teaching practices in Higher Education.
