LIVELIHOOD CREATION

LIVING & LIVELIHOOD

At TGG Foundation, sustainability is not just a goal, it is the very essence of our mission. Through the activities of TGG Farm, we have created a living model where the land, the community, and visitors are woven together in a circle of dignity and self-reliance. Livelihood opportunities emerge from every aspect of this ecosystem: the careful maintenance of the land, tea leaf plucking and weeding carried out by local women, and the farm attendant who lovingly cooks meals, cares for guests, and joins in agricultural work when visitors are away. Beyond the farm, livelihoods extend to the local grocery shops that supply fresh produce, the auto drivers and transport providers who connect the farm and office, and the guest travel facilitators who ensure smooth journeys. Each role, however small, contributes to a larger vision of sustainable living. Looking ahead, TGG Foundation seeks to scale this model beyond Wayanad, nurturing regenerative agriculture, conscious tourism, micro-enterprises, skill development, and community-based services across diverse regions. By empowering farmers, women, youth, artisans, and small businesses, we aim to create replicable livelihood ecosystems that honor local culture while fostering ONENESS between people and nature.

WAYANAD-TGG FARM

The Green Gardens (TGG Farm) is an Ahimsa (Ethical) nature’s abode near Ambalavayal, Wayanad, lovingly maintained by TGG Foundation, a rural development charity committed to sustainability and community empowerment. This serene space is designed to help people disconnect from a wired life and rediscover the rhythm of nature.

PURPOSE OF THE FARM
The farm is more than land; it is a sanctuary where visitors can:
Reconnect with Nature – Walk amidst tea gardens, breathe fresh air, and experience the simplicity of rural life.
Engage in Yoga & Meditation – Find inner balance and peace in a natural setting.
Eat Healthy Food – Enjoy meals prepared with local produce, cooked with care by the farm attendant.
Take Time for Yourself – Slow down, reflect, and embrace mindful living.
Learn Sustainable Practices – Observe and participate in eco-friendly farming, composting, and responsible resource use.
Experience Rural Culture – Interact with local communities, understand their traditions, and appreciate the dignity of simple living.
Support Livelihood Creation – Contribute directly to the income of tea pluckers, shopkeepers, transport providers, and farm workers through your stay.
Prepare for Transformation – Engage with the values of the Responsible Human Mission, cultivating awareness to be part of a collective journey toward retaining humanity.
Find Spiritual Connection – Use the tranquility of the farm to deepen your sense of ONENESS with nature and self.

The Sustainable Living Experience at TGG Farm offers you the opportunity to connect deeply with nature in rural India, surrounded by tea, coffee, pepper, cacao, avocado, jackfruit, mango, banana, starfruit, cinnamon, and cloves, alongside geese and ducks that enrich the farm’s natural charm. This experience, offered exclusively to members of the Responsible Human Mission (RHM), invites guests to read about the mission on the TGG Foundation website before booking, as it provides the philosophical foundation for conscious living. Accommodation includes a double ensuite bedroom with twin beds that can be joined to form a double, and a bathroom, with toilet rolls discouraged for sustainability reasons. To maintain tranquility, there is no TV, Wi-Fi, or sound system, though phone signals are available on most networks, and guests may often find themselves the only ones onsite. While this retreat is designed for adults seeking mindful living, it may not be suitable for children due to the natural terrain, limited pathways and lighting, constant need for parental supervision, and restricted food options. As part of Responsible Tourism, TGG Foundation engages members of the rural community to cook traditional vegetarian and vegan meals on advance notice, ensuring that every aspect of the stay supports both sustainability and local livelihoods.

SUSTAINABLE LIVING EXPERIENCE

LIVELIHOOD CREATION

Responsible tourism creates livelihood by ensuring that every aspect of a visitor’s experience directly supports the local community and environment. Instead of isolating tourism from rural life, it integrates guests into the natural and cultural fabric of the place. At TGG Foundation, this means that when visitors stay at TGG Farm, they contribute to a chain of dignified work: local women pluck tea leaves and weed the gardens, a farm attendant cooks traditional meals and cares for guests, grocery shops supply fresh produce, and auto drivers provide transport between the farm and office. Each role is sustained by the presence of visitors, turning tourism into a source of steady income rather than seasonal or exploitative work.

Beyond the farm, responsible tourism expands livelihood opportunities by encouraging conscious practices such as vegetarian food consumption, use of local resources, and engagement with community members. It empowers small businesses, artisans, and service providers to thrive alongside tourism, while guests gain authentic experiences rooted in sustainability. This model not only generates income but also preserves cultural heritage, strengthens community bonds, and fosters environmental stewardship. In essence, responsible tourism transforms travel into a collective act of empowerment, where visitors and locals together create a circle of sustainability.

TGG Farm is not owned by TGG Foundation; it is lovingly managed by the Foundation with the sole purpose of creating livelihood opportunities for the local community and offering a space where Responsible Human Mission (RHM) members can experience sustainability in practice. The farm serves as a living model of ethical stewardship, where land care, tea cultivation, and conscious tourism come together to nurture both people and nature. By managing this space, TGG Foundation ensures that every activity supports dignity, self-reliance, and the collective journey toward ONENESS.
