TGG Foundation encourages students to engage in intensive research on developing social startups and enterprises to accomplish its sustainable rural development goals. Social startups drive innovative solutions to pressing social issues, creating sustainable and scalable impact. They bridge gaps among communities, fostering inclusive growth and development. Participants will conduct research, complete assignments, and submit a comprehensive project report and present it by the end of the program. The mission is to promote sustainable rural development and create lasting impact through research and innovation. Join us in our mission to drive sustainable change and contribute to social transformation for rural prosperity.

The intention is to train the participants to think analytically and strategically in their attempt for setting up a social startup. The participants engaged in this project will focus on following objectives:

  1. Conducting a research study on any one of the topics from the 16 Sustainable Rural Development Goals. (Refer here – )
  2. Collect the necessary input for implementing the selected social startup project in the location and submit a detailed project report.

The participants have to conduct the research in 30 days from their date of induction in this program. This is an onsite program conducted at the RHM Center in Wayanad, Kerala, India.

The detailed research on the Sustainable Rural Development Topics will be done as per below guidelines:

  1. Define the Mission and Vision: Identify the specific social issue your startup aims to address. Ensure that the mission aligns with the broader goals of TGG Foundation.
  2. Conduct Research: Conduct needs assessment of the community to identify gaps and opportunities in existing areas.
  3. Identification of Focussed Area: Based on your research, identify the focussed area on which you wish to develop a project.
  4. Develop a Business Plan: Outline goals, strategies, and timeline to create a budget and forecast revenue. Develop metrics to measure social impact and validation of your idea.
  5. Organizational Structure & Compliances: Set up an organizational governance structure with defined roles and responsibilities. Understand legal compliances related to your project.
  6. Engage with the Community to Launch the Pilot Project: Design and launch a pilot project to test the concept. Implement a feedback mechanism for stakeholders through community engagement.
  7. Funding and Resource Mobilization: Identify current government schemes and other sources of funding to develop the project. Make an assessment of resources like raw materials, logistics, machinery, warehouses, skilled personnel required depending on your project.
  8. Marketing and Outreach: Consider various channels for awareness campaigns to develop a strong brand for the enterprise.
  9. Monitor and Evaluate: Monitoring and Evaluation has to be done periodically to assess the impact and outreach of the project.
  10. Sustainability Planning: Develop strategies for long-term sustainability of the project based on feedback received.

The program should equip participants with the skills to create impactful social startups. They will conduct thorough research, develop business plans and identify the resources for funding. By the end, participants will present viable projects that contribute to sustainable rural development to foster inclusive growth in their communities. Continuous monitoring and evaluation, along with strategic sustainability planning, will ensure long-term success and scalability of the projects.
